Thirteen years ago, God moved the Pure Heart family to our current location—a nearly ten-acre property that needed a lot of work! 90% of the sidewalks and patios had to be replaced. Every building needed to be repaired and painted; some completely reconstructed. We linked arms and dreamed, planned, prayed, gave and served. It was hard work, but it was worth it. Thirteen years later over 4,000 people are impacted by our weekend services and more than 6,000 people would call Pure Heart their church home. More importantly, we have had the honor of seeing over 7,500 people make decisions for Christ on this campus. God gave us a bold mission: Be a place where it’s okay to not be okay, but it’s not okay to pretend that you are okay or to stay stuck.
There have been so many defining moments in the history of Pure Heart—launching new services, our new Peoria Campus that will open this fall, local and global outreaches, School Connect, The Resilient Church Conference (Training for Trauma, Addiction, Mental Health and PTSD) and most importantly, helping thousands of people grow in their faith and healing in Jesus Christ.
I believe that God is now bringing us a season of opportunity where He is challenging us to take another step of faith. In this next year, we are continuing a season that we are calling, “Because It’s Worth It.” We believe it will be worth it for our family, our community, and our world. This is a God-sized vision that will take Pure Heart’s impact to a whole new level for the next decade and beyond.
My challenge for you is to consider whether it’s worth it for you to join us in providing space and resources for thousands of people in our community and around the world to experience the love and hope of Jesus; to move beyond “life as usual” and make investments in things that will have an eternal impact. The vision we believe God has for Pure Heart is a powerful one and I invite you to join us on this journey.
Because it’s worth it.
