Prayer Focus: Heavenly Father, help me to have the strength to carry on and press ahead as I follow You. In Your son Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

May 22^nd – Hebrews 10:38
38 Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him." (NKJV) For further study, Hebrews 10

Prayer Focus: Lord, please grow in me a healthy faith that pleases You, never drawing back. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May 23^rd – 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. (NKJV) For further study, 2 Corinthians 4

Prayer Focus: God, I thank You that no matter what happens I can depend on You to bring me through it. Help me to never give up. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

May 24^th – 2 Corinthians 7:4-6
4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation. 5 For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. 6 Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus. (NKJV) For further study, 2 Corinthians 7

Prayer Focus: Lord God, even when we are troubled on every side I can count on You. May I always believe that and move ahead. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray this. Amen.

May 25^th – Hebrews 12:1-2
1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Prayer Focus: Father, set me free from anything that would hold me back from following You and completing all that You have for me to do. In the name of Your son Jesus I pray. Amen.

May 26^th – 2 Timothy 4:7-8
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. Prayer Focus: Lord, help me to fight the good fight and not give up but press on to finish the race that You have put before me, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and empower me to do this. In the name of Jesus Christ Your son I pray. Amen.

May 27^th – James 1:2-6
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Prayer Focus: God in Heaven, I don’t always feel joyful or count it joy when the trials come. Help me allow You to teach me patience and learn to cooperate with Your Spirit’s work in my life so that I may be made complete, lacking nothing. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

May 15^th – Mark 11:25-26
25″And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (NKJV) For further study, Mark 11

Prayer Focus: Father in Heaven, I want to be forgiven, show me anyone that I have not forgiven and do a work in my heart so that I may be able to forgive them. In the name of Jesus I ask this. Amen.

May 16^th – Hebrews 12:14-15
14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; (NKJV) For further study, Hebrews 12

Prayer Focus: Lord, teach me to guard my heart from any ”root of bitterness” so that I can be clean in Your sight. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May 17^th – Luke 17:3-4
3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.” (NKJV) For further study, Luke 17

Prayer Focus: God, it is hard for me to always want to forgive those that have wronged me, help me to be willing to forgive even if I’ve been wronged many times. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May 18^th – James 3:13-15
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. (NKJV) For further study, James 3

Prayer Focus: Heavenly Father, I want to be wise in Your sight teach me not to follow wisdom that does not come from You and help me not to have bitter envy in my heart. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May 19^th - 1 Corinthians 6:7-8
7 Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated? 8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! (NKJV) For further study, 1 Corinthians 6

Prayer Focus: Lord, show me when I should just “accept wrong” instead of going after a brother or sister in Christ that has wronged me or offended me. Help me to be ready and simply forgive the person. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

May 20^th – Matthew 18:21-22
21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. (NKJV) For further study, Matthew 18

Prayer Focus: Father, help me to forgive all those that have in any way wronged me and protect my heart from any form of bitterness. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

It’s Baseball Season: Did you know Pure Heart has our own Little League baseball team in Puerto Penasco? The “God Warriors” team is 2-0 so far this season. Biggest Loser: In an effort to raise money to send kids to camp this summer, Pastor Blace has challenged 4th/5th grade Director Greg Gerber in a weight loss competition, who can lose more weight by the end of June.  Stop by the Next Generation Table and sponsor your favorite “Loser” by the pound. Everyone wins in this competition and more kids will make it to a life-changing Bible camp at UCYC.

Elementary VBS: All 1st – 3rd grade (those completing 1st – 3rd grade by June 2012) are invited to Pure Heart’s “Olympic Games 2012 – Go for the Gold” VBS. June 18th – 22nd from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. It’s Baseball Season: Did you know Pure Heart has our own Little League baseball team in Puerto Penasco? The “God Warriors” team is 2-0 so far this season. This beam is a wonderful outreach that allows kids in the “colonias” of Puerto Penasco have a positive place to showcase their skills. Help them continue their winning streak. We are taking the following donated items: Baseball Gloves (greatest need), bases, bats, baseballs and baseball shoes. Drop off donations at the Missions Counter or the church office. VBS Registrations Now Available: If you have a child between the age of 4 and 12 you’ll want to check out PureKidz’s 2012 VBS programs. United Blood Services Thanks You: For the recent blood drive at Pure Heart. Your drive will help to assure that blood is available for patients in need. 35 lifesaving donors stepped up to donate, resulting in 30 procedures for our community. The support of Pure Heart is greatly appreciated and will go a long way toward assuring a strong blood supply, and ultimately saving lives. Our next Blood Drive is Sunday, July 15th.
