Growing in Devotion

It’s important that we spend time each day in God’s Word. Below you will find this week’s daily devotions.

October 31st – Matthew 20:27-28
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (KJV) For further study, Matthew 20

Prayer Focus: God, please show me who I am to minister to and how to serve them as Jesus would have done. Help me to do these things. I ask this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

November 1st – Matthew 24:45-46
45 Who then is the faithful, thoughtful, and wise servant, whom his master has put in charge of his household to give to the others the food and supplies at the proper time? 46 Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is that servant whom, when his master comes, he will find so doing. (AMP) For further study, Matthew 24

Prayer Focus:
Lord God, show what I am to do and help me to do Your will so that when You return You will find me doing what I should. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

November 2nd – Mark 9:34-35
34 But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest. 35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” (NKJV) For further study, Mark 9

Prayer Focus: Father, help me to accept and do what You would have me do. Not trying to determine if I am greater than someone else, for apart from You I can do nothing of any lasting importance. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray this. Amen.

November 3rd – Mark 10:42-44
42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. (KJV) For further study, Mark 10

Prayer Focus:
God, help me to be a willing servant of all those You call me to serve. In the name of Jesus Christ Your Son I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, help me to be a wise servant in Your Kingdom. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray this. Amen.

November 5th – 2 Timothy 2:24-26
24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. (NKJV) For further study, 2 Timothy 2

Prayer Focus:
God, allow me to be gentile and able to teach what You have taught me to others who need You in their life. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. (NKJV) For further study, John 13

Prayer Focus:
Father, help me to serve as Your Son Jesus Christ set the example of a proper servant. Please grant me strength and wisdom in this. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
