September 19th – Luke 6:40
40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. (NKJV) For further study, Luke 6
Prayer Focus: Father, help me to be a good student of You and Your Word that I may become like Your son Jesus. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
September 20th – Luke 14:26
26 If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his [own] father and mother [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God] and [likewise] his wife and children and brothers and sisters–[yes] and even his own life also–he cannot be My disciple. (AMP) For further study, Luke 14
Prayer Focus: Lord God, I know I need to put You first before all things in my life. Teach me to do this and help me to be strong in the times that my flesh is weak and I would want to compromise. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. Amen.
September 21st – Matthew 10:42
42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward. (NKJV) For further study, Matthew 10
Prayer Focus: Heavenly Father, show me how to put others first and help them as I should, giving as Your Word says “a cup of water” or whatever else You would have me do. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
September 22nd – Mark 2:18-20
18 The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, "Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?" 19 And Jesus said to them, "Can the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days. (NKJV) For further study, Mark 2
Prayer Focus: God, place with in me the desire to fast and draw close to You. Help me be a good disciple. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
September 23rd – Mark 4:33-34
33 And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples. (NKJV) For further study, Mark 4
Prayer Focus: Lord, as I read Your Word please teach me as You taught Your disciples. Let the Holy Spirit give me understanding of the things in Your Word. In Jesus’ name I ask this. Amen.
September 24th – Mark 14:32-34
32Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, "Sit here while I pray." 33 And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. 34 Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch." (NKJV) For further study, Mark 14
Prayer Focus: Father, help me and teach me to pray as a disciple should pray. Help me not to be slack in this area of my life but to always come to You in prayer for my needs and pray for others as well. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
September 25th – Luke 17:22-24
22 Then He said to the disciples, "The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. 24 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. (NKJV) For further study, Luke 17
Prayer Focus: Lord God, I want to be always looking to You and for Your return. Help me not to get entangled with the things of the world. May my thoughts be toward You continually. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
