July 11th – Exodus 20:12
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” (NKJV) For further study, Exodus 20
Prayer Focus: God, I want to honor my father and mother as I should, in a way that brings honor to You. Show me how to do this. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
July 12th – Mark 10:19
19 “You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’” (NKJV) For further study, Mark 10
Prayer Focus: Father, as I honor my father and mother help me also, as a man in your word, to not be so connected to wealth and riches that I wander from your plans for me. In Jesus’ name I ask this. Amen.
July 13th – Deuteronomy 5:16
16′Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. (NKJV) For further study, Deuteronomy 5
Prayer Focus: Lord, help us as a nation to return to honoring our fathers and mothers so that things will again be well in this land. Turn our hearts to Your ways. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
July 14th – Ephesians 6:2-3
2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” (NKJV) For further study, Ephesians 6
Prayer Focus: Heavenly Father, help me to honor my parents as I should. I want to have the long life You promise in Your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
July 15th – Proverbs 23:22
22 Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old. (NKJV) For further study, Proverbs 23
Prayer Focus: God, help me to remember the wise things that my father and mother told me. Let me remember their wisdom and follow it. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
July 16th – Matthew 15:4
4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ (NKJV) For further study, Matthew 15
Prayer Focus: Lord, in Matthew 15 I see people not taking care of their parents and doing other things with their money. Father, help me to care for my parents as I should and handle money wisely. In the name of Your Son Jesus Christ I pray this. Amen.
July 17th – 1 Thessalonians 3:12-4:1
12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. (NKJV) For further study, 1 Thessalonians 3
Prayer Focus: God, You are my father, pour Your love through me so I treat others as You would have me to. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
